The private security industry is built on exceptional businesses created through years of hard work and dedication. Yet increasing competition, tighter margins and growing regulatory demands have made it difficult for many smaller businesses to reach their full potential. 

 

After years of building and leading security businesses, Chokka recognised that these challenges were rarely caused by a lack of effort. More often, they stemmed from operational complexity, inconsistent processes and the absence of systems needed to support growth.

 

He came to a simple conclusion: security companies don't need to work harder, they need better systems. Systems designed to prevent mistakes before they happen and identify them quickly when they do. Having established and led security operations in some of South Africa's most demanding environments, Chokka developed expertise in managing high-risk, low-margin businesses where disciplined execution and precision management are critical.

 

Recognising that many exceptional security businesses lacked the time, resources or scale to implement these improvements themselves, Chokka acquired his first security business from an owner preparing for retirement and founded Solidify Holdings with the belief that proven operational systems, strong leadership and technology could help strengthen the business's competitiveness and reduce operational complexity.

 

Today, Solidify has acquired seven businesses, employs more than 200 people and serves over 3000 customers across guarding, armed response and tactical services.
